Who am I?
A spark of light flickering in the dark.
Proudly tall, bright like marble, brave like no other.
My best friend and most loyal companion is darkness.
For only in darkness can I shine my light.
I exist between the two: You can find me there.
Sometimes, my light goes off by the impending strength of the wind.
Then, I only see darkness.
Quickly, I forget that one depends on the other. I see only horrors and devastation.
Other times, I only see the light so bright that it blinds me a little.
It is then, that I must retreat to the shadows. For I need both to live and survive.
If only I could remember that I'm neither, but both at the same time.
Perhaps, I shall then, understand.
¿Quién soy?
Una llama que brilla en la oscuridad.
Esbelta como una estatua, brillante como el mármol, valiente como ninguna.
Mi mejor y más fiel amiga es la oscuridad.
Porque solo en ella puede brillar mi luz.
Convivo entre ambos: Puedes encontrarme en medio de los dos.
Algunas veces, mi luz se apaga con las poderosas ráfagas del viento.
Entonces solo veo las tinieblas.
Pronto me olvido que una depende de la otra. Solo percibo horror y devastación.
Otras veces, la luz tan brillante me ciega. Es cuando, retorno a la sombra.
Porque en verdad, necesito de ambas para vivir y sobrevivir.
Si tan solo, pudiese recordar siempre que no soy una u otra, pero las dos cosas al mismo tiempo.
Quizás, entonces comprendería.
